Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro disassembly video shows the phone is surprisingly easy to repair

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro is a rugged Android smartphone, does that mean it should be easy to repair as well? If you think the answer should be “yes”, then check out the disassembly video below.

The good news is that the phone has a removable back cover, which allows you to access the battery. There’s a rubber gasket covering it to ensure the phone meets the IP68 requirements for water resistance, but the battery can be swapped out without any tools.

You’ll need a heat gun and a pry tool to get the screen out, everything after that is held down by standard Phillips head screws.

The Galaxy Xcover Pro shows that it’s still possible to design a simple phone, though it certainly helps that the phone is 10mm thick and has only two cameras on the back.
