Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G video teardown gives us a look at cool internals

We've already seen a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G teardown. However this new one delves a little deeper into the camera setup, more specifically into the periscope zoom module.

Zack from JerryRigEverything starts with the usual heat gun to loosen up the adhesive and demonstrates what will happen if you apply too much pressure on the corner of the back glass - it will crack. So if you are ever doing this by yourself, just make sure you are gentle.

Interestingly enough, Samsung has decided not to put thermal paste or foam on the back of the chipset for heat dissipation but the copper vapor chamber is in there. We didn't find any issues with overheating when reviewing the phone so obviously Samsung knew what it was doing.

Once you get to the periscope module, you notice the cool magnetic coils that control the prism's stabilization as well as the mechanical moving body inside the module, which we assume is used for autofocus.

The final interesting finding is that the South Korean variant, which is being disassembled lacks the mmWave 5G antennas since there's no infrastructure for this type of network in the country.
