According to a new report from China, Oppo’s Reno5 series will launch in May. The news comes from reliable leakster Digital Chat Station and is the latest example of the shortening product cycles in the smartphone world. It also appears that Oppo will skip out on the number “4” as it is considered bad luck in China due to its association with death.

The Reno3 series was launched in China just three months ago in December while the international variants made their debuts earlier this month. Apart from the rumored launch date, specs for the Reno5 series remain a mystery so we’ll have to wait for more leaks to fill us in.
