Redmi 8A Pro announced - a rebranded 8A Dual

Victor, 02 April 2020

Xiaomi Indonesia just unveiled a new handset, dubbed the Redmi 8A Pro. New is being used loosely here since the 8A Pro is merely a rebadged Redmi 8A Dual.

We are looking at a budget offering with a 6.22" HD+ LCD protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It's running on a Snapdragon 439 chipset, along with 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB storage. You can expand the storage via a dedicated microSD slot, which sits alongside two nano-SIM slots, in a triple slot arrangement.

Power comes courtesy of a beefy 5,000 mAh battery, with 18W fast charge support, achieved via a Type-C port, but sadly you only get a 10W charger in the box.

What we do know, is that these internals are packed inside a 156.5 x 75.4 x 9.4 mm body, complete with P2i splash-proof coating. The Aura XGrip Design texture on the back means the 8A Pro is unlikely to slip from your hands. The 3.5mm audio jack is present, as well.
