The new Huawei nova 7 phones are obsessed with selfies in their first promo videos

Peter, 23 April 2020

Huawei unveiled three new nova 7 phones, including the Pro model, which has a periscope lens with 5x optical zoom – typically, you only see periscopes on the flagship phones from a brand, but Huawei is breaking the mold here. So, you’d think that this would be the focus of the promo campaign but the first videos focus on the camera on the other side.

The Huawei nova 7 Pro 5G has a 32MP wide and an 8MP ultrawide cameras in a pill-shaped punch hole on the front. The new eye-tracking feature ensures that the focus in your selfies is just right – this feature probably sounds familiar to a certain Japanese brand. Note that only the 32MP module has autofocus, the ultra wide cam has a FF lens.

The Huawei nova 7 5G has a single 32MP selfie camera with a fixed-focus lens, so it misses out on eye tracking. It does support Super Night Scene 3.0, however, which promises bright selfie shots even when you’re out at night.

Here's a playlist of the first nine promo videos for the new nova 7 series members:

The selfie focus continues with a video showing off the dual view – what the Finns might call “bothie” – which captures photos and videos using the rear and front cameras simultaneously.

The third phone today, the Huawei nova 7 SE didn’t get a video of its own. While it uses an LCD panel instead of OLED, it has the same 32MP selfie camera as the nova 7, so it supports the same features.

Sick and tired of Huawei saga... hardly any products leave china.. so its time to forget them totally. Just ignore off. Laptop tv phones , all good but what comes of china is nothing.. so lets ignore it, than think about it.. remember the sour grape...
