Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ huge 10,000 mAh battery gets certified for safety

Victor, 20 June 2020

Samsung’s next flagship tablet device is on the way, potentially heading towards a massive joint release event on August 5, alongside the Note20 series, Galaxy Fold 2 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. The prospects of a phenomenal launch lineup are sweeter still, since most leaks, thus far, agree that there will be a Plus model, on top of the regular Tab S7 to enjoy.

Today brings a pair of certification documents and some photos of the massive battery inside the Tab S7+. Both TUV Rheinland and Safety Korea certifications reaffirm its capacity will be rated at 9,800 mAh, with a typical charge of 10,090 mAh. While we’ve had similar battery capacity info in earlier leaks, it is still nice to see solid confirmation.

Today’s documents aside, we already have heaps of info on the upcoming Tab S7 pair, including images and renders. Design appears to be very similar to that on last year’s Tab S6, including the dual-camera setup on the back and the nifty groove underneath it to attach the S-Pen.

The main difference between the Tab S7 and Tab S7+ is expected to be size. The former is said to offer an 11-inch OLED display, slightly bigger than the one on the Tab S6, while the Tab S7+ bumps things up to 12.3 or 12.4 inches. Both panels are expected to feature a high refresh rate of 120Hz. Also shared between the vanilla and the plus – a flagship Snapdragon 865 chipset, with 5G connectivity. Perhaps there will be some memory skew variances between the two Tab S7 models and we know for a fact that the regular Tab S7 will be powered by a smaller 7,760 mAh battery. Though, that is still bigger than the one inside the Tab S6.
