Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 won't feature in August 5 Unpacked event

Ivan, 13 July 2020

Samsung made it official that it will host an Unpacked event on August 5 and it's no secret the Galaxy Note20 series will be the centerpiece of that event. Expected to tag along are the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, the Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7+, the Galaxy Buds Live, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

According to respected insider Max Weinbach the Galaxy Z Fold 2 won't be featured at the August 5 event. He goes on to say that he's 60% sure Samsung won't mention the Galaxy Z Fold 2 at the event and 100% sure that it won't be shown. He estimates that the Z Fold 2 would be announced in early September and could be released in early October.

This still leaves a packed... Unpacked event. The Galaxy Note20 series is expected to feature three models - Galaxy Note20, Note20+ and an all-out Note20 Ultra - the Z Flip 5G is expected to add a Snapdragon 865 (or 865+) and 5G to the old phone's formula. The Galaxy Tab S7/S7+ will bring Snapdragon 865 (or, again, 865+) chipsets, 120Hz-capable displays, big batteries (7,760mAh for the S7, 10,090mAh for the S7+) and dual 13MP + 5MP cameras. The Galaxy Buds Live will bring an unseen-before design and active noise-cancellation.

That's the Samsung (and Google) model: over promise and under deliver. Still better than Apple I guess, who claim their poop is gold.

Tbh the only thing I'm excited about is seeing how those Buds will fit in your ear lol
