Kuo: iPhone 12 lineup to use new camera lenses, periscope telephoto coming in 2022

Ro, 22 July 2020

With the new iPhone 12 lineup approaching, more and more small details get revealed about Apple's phones. This time it's about the iPhone 12 cameras and it comes from popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

iPhone 12 family will use new camera lenses, periscope telephoto coming in 2022

The analyst says that Apple has included the high-quality Semco and Sunny Optical lenses into its supply chain this year. Semco is a Korean-based company while Sunny Optical originates from China. The new lenses will deliver better overall performance and improve the autofocus by a bunch.

Semco's ball-based voice coil motor in the lenses would succeed the current spring-based design.

More excitingly, Semco is expected to manufacture the periscope-like telephoto lenses used in 2022 iPhones.

I am planning to buy an HMS based phone if the trend really takes off, at least in Europe where I live. And I am pretty sure I would had have a Windows phone if they would still be around.

Alright I can't offer any other points to discredit the sales
