Yordan, 23 December 2020

Oppo mentioned the December 24 launch date for the Reno5 Pro+ 5G smartphone two weeks ago, but today we learned there will be a proper announcement with an event. It is scheduled for tomorrow at 15:30 local time in China (that’s 07:30 GMT).

The Oppo Reno5 Pro+ 5G has leaked multiple times, and combined with all the teasers the company posted tomorrow’s unveiling will hardly hold many surprises. The new phone will have a Snapdragon 865 chipset and the world’s first 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor.

The Reno5 Pro+ 5G will have four cameras, one of them being a 13MP periscope shooter with 5x optical zoom, and there are four LED flashes as well on the back. On the front, we expect a 6.55” AMOLED with a 90Hz refresh rate and a single punch hole for the selfie shooter.

The last unknowns are going to be revealed tomorrow - pricing and availability.

Hopefully this phone will have an IP68 rating. If so, then this is an ideal device for me.
