New vivo Y31 announced with Snapdragon 662, 48MP triple camera, and 5,000 mAh battery

Yesterday vivo announced the Y20G in India and today the company further expanded its Y series with the vivo Y31. vivo launched a Y31 back in 2015 with a 4.7" screen and a single rear camera, so we'll refer to the new one as vivo Y31 (2021).

The vivo Y31 (2021) is powered by the Snapdragon 662 SoC, runs Android 11 with Funtouch OS 11 on top, and comes with 6GB RAM. The smartphone has 128GB storage onboard, but it also comes with a microSD card slot for storage expansion by up to 1TB.

The Y31 (2021) is built around a 6.58" FullHD+ LCD that has a notch for the 16MP selfie camera. The back of the phone is home to a triple camera setup which is reminiscent of the X50 Pro and is a combination of a 48MP primary, 2MP depth and 2MP macro units. The last one lets you take pictures from as close as 4cm.

The smartphone features Ultra Stable Video that uses Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), and Super Night Mode that uses the multi-frame noise reduction algorithm to reduce the noise in your photos.

For biometric authentication, the vivo Y31 (2021) relies on a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and keeping the lights on is a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging and support for reverse charging. The smartphone also has a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack in tow.

The vivo Y31 (2021) is offered in Racing Black and Ocean Blue colors. It's priced at INR16,490 ($225/€185) and is already available for purchase in India through the company's online store, Amazon.in, Flipkart, Paytm, and partner retail stores.
