Black Shark 4, 4 Pro and their 120W fast charger get certified by the 3C

The Black Shark 4 and 4 Pro have been teased with 120W fast charging. The official poster went into a bit more detail – 4,500 mAh battery can be filled in under 15 minutes by the 120W charger. And now, thanks to a 3C certification, we have details on the charger itself.

The MDY-12-ED is the power brick in question. It tops out at 20V output at 6A current with a note “only for altitude 5,000m and below”. That shouldn’t be a problem as a quick check of Wikipedia shows that there no major cities anywhere near the 5,000m mark. Presumably, this is regarding charging on planes.

Anyway, both Black Shark 4 models will support the 120W charger. One is KSR-A0 (“Kaiser”) the other is PRS-A0 (“Penrose”), it’s not 100% clear which is the Pro and which is the vanilla version. Both will be powered by Snapdragon 888 chipsets.

The Kaiser version popped up on the Google Play Console, which showed 8 GB of RAM and 1,080 x 2,400 px screen resolution. TENAA lists the display size as 6.67” and the phone’s thickness as 10.3 mm. Its sibling, the Penrose, also leaked on the GPC with 12 GB of RAM.

Despite a couple of official teasers, we still don’t have an announcement date for the Black Shark 4 duo. Rumors indicate that it will happen in March, but there’s no confirmation from the company itself.

Good Golly! This far charging thing is getting crazy. I feel 25W is as far as charging should be.

I would want to lean my back on Blackshark non pro version for smaller screen. Hope the back design flashes a gamer look kind of thing.
