Realme GT 5G was unveiled with a Snapdragon 888 chipset and an affordable price, and the first sale in China has been a massive success - over 30,000 units of the new flagship sold out in seconds. The company boasted on Weibo for gathering over CNY100 million in revenue during the sale.

The exact number of devices is not revealed, but depending on the exact breakdown of the versions purchased, the amount is between 30,312 and 35,727. The phone launched at two price tags - CNY2,799 and CNY3,299 for the different memory options.

It's no wonder that there's no shortage of demand seeing how the sub-$500 equivalent buys you a 6.43” Super AMOLED display of 120Hz refresh rate, a 64MP main + 8MP ultrawide camera on the back and speedy 65W charging.
