Oppo Find X3 Pro in for review

Kaloyan, 11 March 2021

It's here! The Oppo Find X3 Pro that was announced earlier today has made it to our office. The latest Oppo flagship is a feast for the eyes coming with a futuristic glass design, waterproofed at that. It is going all in with the 10-bit color with a 10-bit OLED screen and a duo of 50MP 10-bit camaras.

Here's a key features video for your viewing pleasure.

The Oppo Find X3 Pro specs sheet is long and impressive, but undeniably the design will be the first thing anyone will notice. Sure, the Find X3 Pro is a glass sandwitch phone like many others, but the rear camera is seated on a seamless curve, fitting with the overall design - organic instead of shape breaking. Oppo has achieved a remarkable look by simply thinking the whole thing through in advance instead of making it one big black blob and be done with it.

Then comes the new LTPO OLED screen of 1440p resolution. It supports 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and native 10-bit color meaning it is capable of showing over 1 billion colors. And thanks to the new 10-bit color capabilities of the main and ultrawide snappers, the photos you take promise to look exceptional on the Find X3 display. And they sure do by the looks of the few we were able to capture so far.

And speaking about the cameras, photography is big part of the Find X3 Pro. It features four cameras on the back and each of them seems quite promising. There are two 50MP Sony IMX766 shooters with native 10-bit color capturing - one has f/1.8 OIS wide-angle lens and the other one has f/2.2 ultrawide-angle lens with new configuration that should minimize chromatic abbreviation and the barrel distortion. Here are some samples:

The third camera is a 13MP f/2.4 tele with 5x hybrid zoom, which is really a 2x camera with some digital zoom, as Oppo's testing found that people don't use the long zooms all that much.

Finally, there is a 3MP macro shooter that enables 60X magnification. This one is called microscopic lens and it looked really promising on the presentation, so we can't wait to shoot stuff we can't see with the naked eye.

The selfie camera is a 32MP f/2.4 shooter and it's placed within a small cutout inside the screen. We shot some photos with the front camera, too:

Quite expectedly, the Oppo Find X3 Pro is powered by the current best Qualcomm chipset - the Snapdragon 888 with a 5G modem that supports 13 5G bands. The X3 Pro is sold with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS3.1 storage. There is no microSD expansion.

The Find X3 Pro includes other top-grade features such as Dolby Atmos-pAtmos-certified stereo speakers, under-display fingerprint reader, NFC, support for latest Wi-Fi and Bluetooth standards. It runs on the latest Android 11 with ColorOS 11.2 too.

Finally, the Find X3 Pro packs a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 wired and 30W AirVOOC wireless fast charging. The supplied 65W power adapter should bring a dead battery to 40% in 10 mins.

The Find X3 Pro that arrived in our HQ is the Gloss Black option, which is glossy and Oppo claims it made it so glossy on purpose, so it can look like ceramic. And it does. And while the coating is not bad at repelling fingeprints it still got rather smudgy after a while. There is also a Blue model coming, which will be far more fingerprint-resistant and anti-glare thanks to a new frosted finish with 85% opacity.

Well, color us intrigued. We are already working on our full written and video Oppo Find X3 Pro reviews, so you may want to keep an eye on our website next week.

Not really.... Edward Snowden has clearly explained how iPhones are the most vulnerable. Believe it or not, but the lack of fragmentation is the reason why exploit are easier to design for iPhones.....making these devices more vulnerable.

For that, you get Iphone, with all it's negatives. Positive - security is best there.

Waiting for that review big time!
