Weekly poll results: Find X3 Pro gets lukewarm reception

Peter, 21 March 2021

The Oppo Find X3 Pro caught some people’s attention, but few are ready to fork over the cash to buy one without further research – last week’s poll shows that roughly half of voters are interested in the phone, however, most of them preferred to wait for the full review.

When we posted the poll, we had shared early camera samples from the phone. That wasn’t enough to make a €1,150 decision, though. The good news is that we have finished our review since, so you can dive into the details (or watch our hands-on video for a quick overview).

It was a positive conclusion, by the way, we loved the screen and the molded glass design. The fast charging is great, the battery life not so much. The lack of a proper telephoto camera really hurts the phone too (and don’t get us started on the selfie camera).

Oppo is now starting to roll out an update that will allow the adaptive refresh rate mode on the screen to go down to just 1Hz. When we reviewed it, the screen couldn’t go lower than 5Hz (we’ll update the review as soon as we test the update).

1Hz refresh rate is a neat trick, but the X3 Pro is not alone in this ability. And the competition is already tough with the cheaper Xiaomi Mi 11 and the better-specced Galaxy S21 Ultra. More are on the way – we expect we will have a OnePlus 9 Pro and a vivo X60 Pro+ in our hands before long.
