Watch the Google I/O 2021 keynote live here

Yordan, 18 May 2021

Google I/O is Google’s annual developer conference, and it will begin today at 10AM PT (17:00 UTC). After the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the coronavirus, this one is taking place, but with no in-person attendance - everything will be virtual, including all the workshops and meetings, scheduled to take place in the next three days.

We still don’t know what exactly Google has in store for us aside from the previously announced keynotes and workshops, focused on “company and product news”. At I/O we usually see new software, including teasers of the next Android, so we’re pretty confident the same will happen now as well.

Aside from a rumored big UI overhaul for Android 12, we expect new colors for Google Assistant, new features for Google Photos and Wear OS improvements. Google has purchased Fitbit and we hope to see some incorporated features into Google’s operating system for wearables, but the bigger surprise might be a partnership between Google and Samsung.

Rumors suggested the Korean giant is ditching the in-house Tizen for the Galaxy Watch4 generation and we’ll know more on this and many other topics when the keynote begins.
