Right on schedule Honor unveiled its latest midrange phone in China called Play5 5G. The phone is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 800U chipset and supports speedy 66W wired charging. The rest of the key specs include a 6.53-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 16MP selfie cam housed in the water drop notch.

There are four cameras around the back with a 64MP primary shooter and 8MP ultrawide cam. The remaining two modules are both 2MP and are used for macro shots and depth data. You can get the Play5 with either 128GB or 256G storage, in either case RAM is 8GB.

The battery is just 3,800 mAh though the fast charger should help you top up from 0 to 100% in just 35 minutes. On the software side, we have Android 10 with Magic UI 4.0 and no Google Play Services, but that's the norm in China so no real disadvantage for the phone.

Looks like an excellent smartphone and the Mediatek Dimensity 800U chipset is really amazing for the users. Good camera as well.

That's a pretty good phone, very fast charging and a nice OLED screen.I've been using the P40 lite for a couple of months without GMS and I'm pretty pleased, most of the apps run without problems.
