ZTE nubia Red Magic 6R launch scheduled for May 27

A new gaming phone from nubia, called Red Magic 6R, will be introduced on May 27. The announcement appeared on Weibo, and this is the first time nubia is going to release an R model.

Nubia Red Magic 6R launch scheduled for May 27

Rumors are suggesting this is the nubia NX666J smartphone that was certified on TENAA back in April. A quick glance reveals the phone does not have the aggressive gaming aesthetics, but still offers plenty of power like a Snapdragon 888 chipset, up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage and at least one 64MP camera.

The very same device was also certified at 3C with 55W fast charging for its 4,100 mAh battery, which is nowhere near as impressive as the 120W in the Chinese version of the nubia Red Magic 6 Pro.

We expect this phone to be an affordable alternative to the flagships, given the fact nubia chose the letter R, which is a step back from S - the letter marking the updates to the flagship Red Magic phones in the past two years.
