Repairing a broken screen on a Galaxy Z Fold3 or Z Flip3 is costly but cheaper than before
If you’re interested in Samsung’s new foldables, we have some good news and some bad news. We’ll start with the good – the screen replacements for the most part have gotten cheaper on this generation foldables. As for the bad news – they are still pretty expensive.
Replacing the large inner screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 will set you back $480. The outer screen is cheap by comparison, just $150. According to the official pricing, the same screen replacements on the older Z Fold2 would cost you $550 and $140, respectively.
As for the Galaxy Z Flip3, replacing a broken inner screen is a $370 repair job, the tiny outer screen is an inexplicable $100. For the Z Flip 5G, those costs were $500 and $100, respectively.
The Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 each have two displays that are pricey to repair
By the way, the repair costs for the original Fold used to be even higher ($600/$140), so there is a trend for the parts to get cheaper. Still, you might want to consider Samsung Care+ – those who pre-order get the first 12 months free, but given the spicy repair costs, you might want to extend that (you can extend up to 3 years total).
The service costs $13 a month and offers some free repairs and a discount on screen replacement, down to $250. Check out your regional Samsung Care+ website for more details.
PS. If you’re curious what makes repairs so pricey (besides the cost of the replacement components), you can watch this and this disassembly video of the Z Fold3 and Z Flip3. Taking one apart is no easy task.

Lmao an insane base price and a $156 a year service and after all that they still want to milk money out of their consumers on screen repairs.
