Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G listed on the Google Play Console with 6GB of RAM

Peter, 25 August 2021

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset – we knew that already from Geekbench results. Now the details listed on the Google Play Console confirm this and make it clear that this isn’t the Plus chip (look at the clock speed of the prime core).

The GPC listing also confirms another spec, the 6 GB of RAM. We’ve seen versions with 8 GB, so that will be an option, but it should have been the base capacity – both the Galaxy S20 (4G and 5G) and the S21 start at 8 GB RAM. In fact, this will be the first Snapdragon 888-powered phone with less than 8 GB.

Anyway, the listing also gives the screen resolution, 1,080 x 2,009 px. Don’t read too much into that resolution, however, as other phones (e.g. the Galaxy F52 5G and A22 5G) were listed with the same resolution at the Console, but in reality they have 1,080 x 2,400 px screens. As will the S21 FE most likely to match the S21 and S21+ (though TENAA claims the actual numbers are 1,080 x 2,340 px).

This is good spec but, there will be problems with over heating and crashes. Happens a lot on android devices. I presume a cut down price

No memory card support... Very sad.. to hear this.. https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-s21-fe-5g-user-manual-makes-no-mention-of-microsd-slot/
