Realme GT Neo2 gets TENAA certified, might launch as GT Neo Gaming in some markets

Sagar, 31 August 2021

The Realme GT Neo2 that surfaced yesterday with its images and specs has been certified by TENAA, moving it a step closer to the launch and corroborating yesterday's leak.

The GT Neo2, sporting model code RMX3370, is powered by the Snapdragon 870 and runs Android 11, presumably with Realme UI 2.0 on top. It's built around a 6.62" FullHD+ AMOLED screen with a fingerprint reader underneath. While TENAA doesn't mention its refresh rate, a previous leak claimed the smartphone will feature a 120Hz panel.

The display also has a 16MP selfie camera inside the punch hole, and around the back is a rectangular camera island housing two LED flash modules and three cameras - 64MP, 8MP, and 2MP.

The Realme GT Neo2 will have 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB storage onboard, but no microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The smartphone will come in Mirror Black, Dream Blue, and Super Orange colors (machine translated from Chinese), and TENAA says it will pack a battery with a rated capacity of 2,465 mAh. Although this is likely the size of a single cell and the typical capacity will be 5,000 mAh.

It's unclear how fast the Realme GT Neo2 will charge, but we presume it will support at least 50W charging since no smartphone in the current GT lineup goes slower than that.

There's no word from Realme about the GT Neo2 yet, but an official-looking poster that popped up on Twitter suggests the GT Neo2 will be sold as GT Neo Gaming in some markets, which is hardly a surprise since the GT Neo available in China was launched as the X7 Max 5G in India.

The image also reveals that the smartphone's rear panel will flaunt a "Gaming Design," and the source claims it will have two memory options - 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB priced at $499 and $599, respectively.
