Ro, 09 October 2021

Amazfit is about to hold an event on October 11 and is expected to announce three new smartwatches - the GTR 3, GT3 3 Pro and GTS 3. Thanks to PassionateGeekz we have a good chunk of the info beforehand - specs, prices and even renders.

Amazfit GTR 3 Pro

Starting the Pro model, the device sports a 1.45-inch OLED display with an upgraded 331 PPI panel, although there's no specific mention of the actual resolution. The usual set of sensors is at hand too.

Compared to its predecessor, the GT3 Pro won't be much different from a design standpoint, although slimmer bezels of just 3.5mm are to be expected as well as smaller body dimensions.

The vanilla GTR 3 will also inherit the design from its predecessor with the small exception of the bezels again and thus overall dimensions. The bezels will be slimmed down to 4.05mm from 4.35mm but the same 1.39-inch OLED panel with 454 x 454px resolution will sit on top. A 450 mAh battery should make it through a full 24 days, according to the OEM.

Lastly, the GTS 3 is the budget option of the bunch featuring a 1.75-inch display with a smaller 390 x 450px resolution.

New ZEPP OS

The most intriguing part of the new generation from Amazfit is the OS. The still unreleased watches will run on a proprietary ZEPP OS boasting snappy operation and smooth animations and watch faces at 60fps. Most smartwatches nowadays are limited to lower refresh rate, so this is definitely going to be a key selling point for the new GTR and GTS devices.

The new OS supports 150 sports modes and more than 150 watch faces. Apps such as Spotify and Home Connect are also in the mix. The devices are supposed to charge from flat to 100% in two hours.

Notably, all three smartwatches will come with aluminum alloy bodies and silicone straps.

As far as prices go, the GTS 3 will ask about $205, while the GTR 3 and 3 Pro will go for $215 and $225, respectively.

Where is the info with Spotify coming from? I see no such a feature on official Amazfit page. This is for me crucial detail as if I wanna run or just go to gym I don't wanna take my phone with me to listen to the music.

My Amazfit Bip had fairly accurate GPS but that's all it did, since then I have used a GTS and GTS2 and the GPS is ridiculously poor on both. When exporting the GPS to another app like Strava you can see this. Loads of random spikes and deviatio...
