Honor X30 series unveiled with large displays and Dimensity chipsets

Ahead of China’s biggest shopping holiday – Single’s Day (November 11) Honor went ahead and released two new midrangers – the X30i and X30 Max. They are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity chipsets, pack spacious LCDs and ample sized batteries.

Honor X30i 5G

X30i brings a 6.7” LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. There’s a punch-hole cutout centered at the top for its 8MP selfie cam while the back features three modules headlined by a 48MP main shooter. The remaining two are a 2MP macro cam and a 2MP depth sensor.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 810 5G chipset sits at the helm aided by 6 or 8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage. The phone also packs a 4,000 mAh battery with 22.5W charging. It’s just 7.45mm thick and weighs 175 grams.

Honor X30i comes in pink, silver, blue and black colors and starts at CNY 1,399($218) for the base 6GB RAM and 128GB storage trim. There’s an 8/128GB version for CNY 1,699 ($265) and a 8/256GB one for CNY 1,899 ($296). Pre-orders in China start later today while official sales kick off on November 11.

Honor X30 Max gets its name from the giant 7.09-inch FHD+ screen that sits up front. Add in dual speakers and a 5,000 mAh battery and you’ve got yourself a proper portable media consumption device.

X30 Max utilizes MediaTek’s Dimensity 900 chipset paired with 8GB RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. There’s a 64 MP main cam around the back next to a 2MP depth module. The selfie shooter comes out to 8MP.

Honor X30 Max 5G comes in black, blue and purple gradient colors and will retail from CNY 2,399 ($375) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage trim. The 256GB storage unit will go for CNY 2,699 ($422). Pre-orders start later today while official sales begin on November 11.

For that, they must start actually selling theirs phones in the markets which they aren't doing, just doing advertising and keeping product for themselves !!

Did you just list one of the reasons to use an OLED over an LCD as a reason to use an LCD over an OLED? OLEDs consume much less power. That's a fact known by everyone. Especially on such a large panel where a massive backlight would be nee...

It's very likely they do that because of battery life since an IPS LCD panel consumes less battery juice than an OLED panel.
