Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with Exynos 2200 runs Geekbench

Ivan, 18 November 2021

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the latest to do a run on Geekbench in its Exynos 2200 flavor with 8GB of RAM. And while we should refrain from taking pre-release bench scores seriously (cross-platform ones even less) the 691/3167 of the Exynos 2200 is in line with the Tensor and Snapdragon 888 chipsets and worse than the A15 in the iPhone 13 series.

The device that ran the benchmark has the model number SM-S908B, which is very likely the Galaxy S22 Ultra. We've already seen similar numbers from the SM-S906B, likely the Galaxy S22+, also running an Exynos 2200. Both devices dispel the rumor that all Galaxy S22 units will have a Snapdragon 898 instead of an Exynos.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is expected to arrive on February 8 in three variants - S22 with a 6.06-inch FHD+ display, S22+ with a 6.55-inch FHD+ display, and S22 Ultra with a 6.81-inch QHD+ display. Camera-wise the Galaxy S22 and S22+ will have a new 50MP main camera and a 10MP 3x zoom, and a 10MP selfie. The S22 Ultra will carry a new 108MP main camera, the 12MP ultrawide and 40MP selfie from the Galaxy S21, and two 10MP sensors for 3x and 10x.

The 2100 destroys it in geekbench if this is the final score from the optimized E2200. Horrible to say the least.

Go with Snapdragon version of the s22 . Sony phones are only good for films with that narrow display. The ultra will probably be heavy and thick again.
