OnePlus Nord 2 CE's leaked renders reveal design shared with Oppo Reno7 SE

Sagar, 16 December 2021

Earlier this week, a media report claimed that the OnePlus Nord 2 CE - codenamed "Ivan" - is expected to go official by the end of January or mid-February 2022 and cost between INR24,000 ($315/€280) and INR28,000 ($370/€325) in India. The source also shared the phone's specs, including Dimensity 900 SoC, up to 12GB RAM, and up to 256GB storage. Now, the same source is back with a set of OnePlus Nord 2 CE's renders, revealing its design.

Considering the design and previously leaked specs of the OnePlus Nord 2 CE, it's safe to say that it isn't an entirely new smartphone but a rebadged Oppo Reno7 SE 5G with a better camera system, faster charging (65W vs. 33W), and a 3.5mm headphone jack onboard.

The Reno7 SE 5G features a triple camera on the rear comprising 48MP primary, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth units, while the Nord 2 CE retains the macro camera but replaces the main unit with a 64MP camera and the depth sensor with an 8MP ultrawide camera.

And since this is a OnePlus device, it will run OxygenOS 12 (based on Android 12) out of the box, unlike the Oppo Reno7 SE 5G, which boots Android 11-based ColorOS 12. You can head this way to check out the full specs of Reno7 SE 5G and Nord 2 CE.

They might be late to adopt a feature but when they do, they perfect it. Their first attempt on 120hz made their 13 pro phones have the best battery life on any phone whereas android struggled with battery life after adopting higher refresh rates.

Because SE is usually the second lowest model after Lite in Oppo Reno hierarchy. Cheaper model means bigger bezels aka budget phone styling. Not sure why Oneplus did not at least rebadge the better looking Reno7.
