Xiaomi 12 specs and prices leak

Vlad, 23 December 2021

Next week Xiaomi is holding a grand launch for its next flagship smartphone family in China. The 'vanilla' Xiaomi 12 model has already been leaked and teased a lot, and so far we found out it will be a smaller handset than you may have expected - its 6.28" screen enables a 69.9mm width.

While the panel is "only" 1080p, it's already rumored to have received an "A+" score from DisplayMate. We're also expecting the Xiaomi 12 to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The rest of the spec details have purportedly leaked today in China, along with pricing info. Let's dive in, shall we?

Xiaomi 12 specs and prices leak

The Xiaomi 12 is said to sport a 50 MP main rear camera with a 1/1.28" sensor with 1.22um pixel size (2.44um when binned), f/1.9 aperture, and OIS. There's also a 123-degree 13 MP ultrawide, and a 3x zoom snapper with OIS. Storage is UFS 3.1 and RAM is LPDDR5, and the phone unsurprisingly supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, as well as NSA and SA 5G. The screen has 120 Hz refresh rate and 16,000 brightness levels, as well as HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

The Xiaomi 12 weighs 180g, runs MIUI 13, and comes with a 4,500 mAh battery with 67W wired charging and 30W wireless charging. The stereo speakers have Dolby Atmos support.

The base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is said to cost CNY 3,699 (approximately $580 or €512 at the current exchange rates), while doubling the storage to 256GB takes you to CNY 3,999 ($627, €554). The top of the line version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will go for CNY 4,399 ($690 or €609).

While everything contained in this leak seems at least plausible, don't forget it's an unconfirmed rumor at this point, so don't take any of it for granted. Xiaomi will spill the official beans soon enough.
