Xiaomi 12 Pro disassembly video appears

Xiaomi’s 12 Pro was one of the last devices announced in 2021 and among the first with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and PBKreviews is here to give us an inside look at the flagship. The big brother to the Xiaomi 12 packs some impressive hardware but how easy is it to repair?

Prying off the back and a total of 19 screws as well as the metal bracket leaves you with the motherboard and after disconnecting a few more cables the host manages to give us a closer look at the camera setup. The 50MP Sony IMX707 main sensor comes with OIS while the ultrawide and telephoto modules do not. The 12 Pro features a multi-layer motherboard with the cameras on one side and the chipset, RAM and storage on the other.

There’s plenty of thermal paste and copper surrounding the key components to ensure optimal thermal management. The 4,600 mAh battery does come with its own pull tabs which helps with the removal process. Once removed we can see a fairly large copper vapor chamber right below the battery and motherboard. Xiaomi 12 Pro earns a 6.5 out of 10 repairability score which is in line with most flagships these days.
