Motorola Moto G200 5G in for review

Michail, 06 February 2022

It’s been a few months since it launched but the Moto G200 5G finally made its way to our office and it's time we see what the top G-series phone is all about.

Design-wise, the G200 is nothing striking - glass on the front while the frame and back are made from plastic though it does look a bit more premium thanks to the metallic finish on the frame and matte back design. There are two highlights worth mentioning here - the Snapdragon 888+ which is a big step up from the Moto G100’s SD870 and the 108MP main cam on the back which offers a large 2.1µm effective pixel size and up to 8K video capture.

The screen on the G200 comes in at a sizeable 6.8-inches and is of the LCD variety. You get a super smooth 144Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution, HDR10 output and a much more subtle single punch-hole cutout for the 16MP selfie cam compared to the G100’s dual cutouts.

The software side is covered by good ol’ Android 11 with Moto’s My UX interface on top. The phone comes with Moto’s Ready For desktop-like interface if you hook it up to an external monitor which we’ll make sure to test in the full review.

The 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging should deliver ample battery endurance. With its €450 price tag Motorola G200 5G comes with a lucrative spec sheet but we’ll have to complete our full review to confirm if it's worth going after.
