Samsung’s Tab S8 and S8 Ultra pre-orders suspended in the US due to “overwhelming demand”

Enrique, 12 February 2022

This week’s launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8 lineups were followed by pre-order gates lifting so folks can begin ordering the new Samsung flagships hardware. XDA-Developers noticed that Samsung’s US website shows both the vanilla Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra are listed as “Sold Out” with only the Tab S8+ still available to pre-order.

Samsung offered the following statement to XDA regarding those pre-orders.

We are thrilled by the consumer response to our new Galaxy Tab S8 lineup. Due to the overwhelming demand in the last 48 hours, we will be pausing preorders at Samsung.com for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S8. We are working quickly to meet customer excitement and demand. Please stay tuned for more updates.

As of the time of this writing, the missing Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra can be pre-ordered from Best Buy, however the Galaxy Tab S8 is not listed on the retailer.

The Galaxy Tab S8 lineup comes in three sizes ranging from 11 to 14.6-inches. All models are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 and come with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on the Tab S8 and Tab S8+ or up to 16GB and 512GB of storage on the Tab S8 Ultra. However, the 16GB RAM model isn't available for pre-orders.

All three models get improved S Pen performance, and updated displays. The Tab S8 Ultra gets Samsung’s largest Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen and dual 12MP front-facing cameras.

Those who pre-order one of the new tablets from Samsung’s website will be eligible to receive a free Slim Keyboard cover (the Ultra’s is backlit). So if you’re looking to grab that deal, make sure you keep checking Samsung’s site.
