Realme 9 Pro and 9 Pro+ get unboxed on video a day before their official unveiling

Vlad, 15 February 2022

Realme has already unveiled a lot of details regarding the upcoming Realme 9 Pro and 9 Pro+, which are due to be officially announced tomorrow - in less than 24 hours, actually.

But if for some reason you wanted even to know even more - you can now watch an unboxing video of the two devices by Unbox Therapy, showcasing the handsets in all their glory. Since the video is still up many hours after its upload, we're assuming this is sanctioned by Realme and part of its teaser/hype-building campaign for the duo.

The Realme 9 Pro is shown in black here, and it's powered by the Snapdragon 695 SoC. It has a 120 Hz screen and 64 MP main camera, 8 MP ultrawide, 16 MP selfie snapper, a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging, a single bottom-firing speaker, a headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The variant shown in the video comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

On the other hand, the Realme 9 Pro+ is ever so slightly smaller and gets the Dimensity 920 chipset. This phone has a 90 Hz Super AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint scanner, a 50 MP main camera with the Sony IMX766 sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide, 16 MP selfie cam, a headphone jack, and 60W fast charging. Like its sibling, this too has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage as shown, but undoubtedly there will be other options too upon launch.

Pricing is estimated to come in at around $350-$400, which seems a bit much for what's on offer here. Then again, inflation is pretty much a thing in a lot of places, so maybe that justifies the pricing? We're actually more baffled about the Pro+ model being smaller and having a lower refresh rate screen than the Pro. Maybe "+" doesn't mean what it used to anymore?

Anyway, stick around and we'll have all of the official details straight from Realme in a few hours.

True! My mother has the 6/128 7 Pro, my brother's still running his XT & I upgraded to the X7 Max last year! They haven't really upgraded anything except the chip & HRR on most models, no camera improvements, same old 64+8+2(+2)...

Would realme ui ever get merged as unified os like other bbk parts?
