Spotify users on Android rejoice as swipe-to-queue begins rolling out

Enrique, 03 March 2022

Unofficially called “swipe to queue”, this feature has been enabled on the iOS version of Spotify for years and makes it easy to add tracks to a Spotify queue with a simple gesture. This wasn’t possible on the Android version of the app for many years, until now.

As first spotted on a Reddit thread, Reddit u/Far-Contact-9369 points out that the feature is now available on the Spotify app for Android. The feature must be rolling out now, though it’s not active on our end logged into two Android phones on a Premium account in the US.

As an Android user, I was not even aware this was a feature of the iOS app. It’ll now be so much easier to add multiple tracks to a queue without having to make cumbersome taps through each song’s menu of actions.

It currently seems like the feature is rolling out to a small number of users for testing before it is more widely released. Have you noticed this feature working on Android yet?

It works on my end. S21 FE, Spotify version 8.7.10.1262. Although it's not working when I search for a song, only from playlists.
