Samsung Health Beta reveals compatibility with ‘Watch5’ and ‘Watch5 Pro’, no Classic

Enrique, 03 June 2022

Samsung just released its One UI 4.5 Beta for users to test out on the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 to those who enrolled online. On the Beta version of the Samsung Health app, the list of compatible devices has grown to include two unreleased Galaxy Watch models: the Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro. This despite previous rumors that there would be three Watch5 models.

Based on this evidence, we can deduce that Samsung won't be releasing a “Classic” variant of the Watch5 with a rotating bezel. Plus, the placeholders in the following screenshot from the Samsung Health Beta app show a Galaxy Watch4 next to the Watch5 and Watch5 Pro.

As noted by 9to5Google, a similar thing happened prior to the release of the Watch4 and Watch4 Classic on a beta build of the Samsung Health app, whose placeholders for the watches were the Galaxy Watch Active2 and the Galaxy Watch 3, respectively – to signify the two Watch’s form factors.

This report corroborates another leak from earlier this week that claimed the Galaxy Watch5 Pro won’t have a rotating bezel. Other rumors for the Watch5 Pro include a large 572 mAh battery, sapphire glass, and potentially a thermometer.

That's what I wear. Only heart rate ans steps count is more/less accurate on Galaxy Watch. All other features accuracy- just a guess. Marketing trick I should say.
