The GT2 Explorer Master is built around a 6.7” AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 360 Hz touch sampling rate. The display has a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and Full HD+ resolution.

The company developed a custom X7 display driver chip that optimizes the performance of the screen and its power consuption. The bezel are ultra-thin standing at 1.48mm on the sides and top and 2.37mm on the bottom.

The triple camera setup on the back includes the popular 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor - the same as the predecessor GT Explorer Master and seen in half a dozen other Realme smartphones. The 150-degree FoV ultrawide camera has another 50MP sensor, while the third 2MP module only does macro shots. The 16MP selfie shooter is mounted in a centered punch hole.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset has a mighty Adreno 730 GPU that works with the Realme X7 chip to ensure better touch responsiveness and correct refresh rate selection. In theory, the X7 can artificially extrapolate frame rate from 30fps to 120fps during gaming and from 60fps to 120fps in any other scenario.

The phone's distinctive design is called “Travel Trunk”. The frame is metallic, while the back is made from “vegan leather,” which is a fancy plastic. The phone is also offered in plain White and plain Black colors. The device comes with shoulder keys - they are not typical mechanical buttons but pressure-sensitive areas on the right-hand side (top when gaming).

Realme says the GT2 Explorer Master will do wonders for mobile gamers and power users who will try and get everything from the hardware. The phone has two vapor chambers and Realme GT Mode 3.0.

There’s 100W fast charging support for the 5,000 mAh battery, and Realme said 0 to 100% is achieved in 25 minutes. The company promised that despite this the battery will have twice the longevity of its competitors thanks to GaN materials in the cell, which guarantee 1600 full cycles before the battery capacity is reduced to 80%.

The Realme GT2 Explorer Master has Realme UI 3.0 on top of Android 12, and it is designed in such a way that the metallic frame acts as an antenna for better 5G connectivity. Other features include dual-band GPS, 360-degree NFC and an under-display optical FP scanner.
