Oppo K10 Energy surfaces with SD 778G chip, 120Hz LCD and offline distribution strategy

A new phone has surfaced, dubbed the Oppo K10 Energy (or perhaps “Vitality Edition”, model number PERM10). You won’t find much about it online as this one seems destined for offline distribution. Here’s what we know so far.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 778G, which is paired with a generous 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage. Also, it has a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging. The phone measures 8.5mm thick and weighs 199g

On the front is a 6.59” LCD (1,080 x 2,412px) with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, plus a 16MP selfie camera. On the back a 64MP main camera, 8MP (probably) ultra wide and a 2MP helper. The phone also boasts an an X-axis linear motor, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

This sounds comparable to the Oppo K10 5G in China and better than the global K10 5G. Actually, it seems identical to the Oppo K9s from last year, save for the extra RAM.

The Oppo K10 Energy or whatever its name is will sell in brick and mortar stores or CNY 2,200 ($325/€320/₹26,000). For comparison, the Chinese K10 (12/256GB) costs CNY 2,500 (there are cheaper 8/128GB and 8/256GB options too). The K9s (8/256GB) is CNY 2,200 (with cheaper 6/128GB and 8/128GB versions also available).

The Energy edition doesn’t seem to be available yet, so some details are still unclear (especially whether or not it will be available globally).

What is up with all of these Snapdragon 778G phones, when there is already the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1? Why don’t the OEMs use the new SoC???

Nothing phone har just been released... I wonder how do you know how many bugs does the phone have to be making such a comment.

Nothing has lots of bugs. Still not solved with first software update. Nothing costs a lot more than this phone. So doesn't make sense to compare.
