China Telecom gets exclusive Galaxy Z Fold4, Flip4 versions with 16GB RAM, new names
Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 in August and now it about to release the annual versions exclusive to China Telecom. Those will have a slightly changed design, more RAM and new names. The Fold will be called Samsung W23, while the clamshell will go by as Samsung W23 Flip.
The Samsung W23 smartphones will be sold exclusively with a golden cover and premium coating on the back, as well as up to 16GB RAM. The global Fold4 has 12GB RAM, while the Flip sits at just 8GB.
The W series predates Samsung's foldable smartphones, it used to sell tailor-made clamshells with exuberant pricing.
The most expensive Galaxy Z Fold4 costs CNY15,999 ($2,280 in China, which means the Samsung W23 is likely going to match its predecessor’s price of CNY16,999 (over $2,420). The W23 Flip is aiming for CNY9,999 ($1,420).

I still remember the W2019, the last ever great flagship flip phone. It may well be three years old now, but I'm still yearning to own one. Nowadays, the Galaxy W series is nothing more than a China-exclusive rebranded Galaxy Z.

Chinese made apps are slow on low RAM and low internet bandwith, so I can see the reason why high RAM device is popular there.
