Another One UI 5.0 beta update for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series rolls out

Ro, 21 September 2022

Users across Europe report that the third One UI 5.0 beta software based on Android 13 is now being distributed to Exynos-powered Samsung Galaxy S22 devices. The same update is expected to hit other markets by the end of this week.

The update itself is focused more on resolving software issues and bugs. For instance, the new update improves the home screen return animation as well as overlapping elements when closing folders. Also, you can now exit apps normally when multiple apps are running on the lock screen, as previously, some apps refused to close. The annoying Calendar widget transparency bug has been squashed as well.

Feature-wise, the new firmware offers a new slideshow-style story feature in the default Gallery app and there's a small tweak in the wallpaper selection screen. There's also the option to change the wallpaper directly from the lock screen by holding your finger on an empty space.
