Twitter is bringing back Blue Verified on November 29

Yordan, 16 November 2022

Twitter allowed everyone to get their account verified through the Blue subscription, which led to multiple people abusing the feature and outright trolling the social media with outlandish posts. In an attempt to prevent further disarray, the Elon Musk-owned network turned off subscriptions on Friday and even removed check marks for a brief period.

The CEO finally confirmed relaunching the Blue Verified feature will be on November 29 “to make sure it is rock solid”.

The Blue checkmark is feature of the Premium subscription that used to be $5 per month with some benefits like editing and scheduling a tweet, but was later increased to $8 in an attempt to bring more money in.

To make up for that Musk added one more benefit - allowing users to have the blue check mark making them Verified, a feat that was previously reserved for accounts of politicians, celebrities, journalists, media and other high-profile entities.

Musk did not elaborate on how Twitter is planning to stop imposters from appearing verified, but given the dynamic situation in the company, we are not sure it has a plan either.
