nubia Z50 announced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and 35mm main cam

The latest Z-series flagship from nubia is here with the nubia Z50 and it brings the best of the brand with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a 35mm equivalent main camera.

There’s a curved 6.67-inch AMOLED at the front with FHD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen is interrupted by a small punch-hole cutout for the 16MP selfie cam. Nubia outfitted the device with stereo speakers tuned with DTS:X Ultra and Snapdragon Sound.

The camera department brings a custom 64MP Sony IMX 787 main cam with a 35mm equivalent lens which should fare great for portrait shots. The second sensor on the back is a 50MP ultrawide module (14mm equivalent) with autofocus which also serves as a macro cam.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage while the software side is covered by MyOS 13 on top of Android 13. The phone also boasts a 5,000 mAh battery with 80W wired charging.

Nubia Z50 comes in black, white and green colors. The entry-level 8/128GB trim will go for CNY 2,999 ($430). There’s a 12/256GB version for CNY 3699 ($530) as well as a 12/512GB model for CNY 3,999 ($573). The top-spec'd 16GB RAM and 1TB storage trim will sell for CNY 5,999 ($860). Open sales in China start on December 23.
