Latest Pixel Buds Pro update reveals Head tracking is coming

With the January update, Google brought native support for Spatial Audio to the Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7, and 7 Pro. This adds directional filters to sound and simulates a surround sound experience when listening to music or watching content from supported apps. Now, the latest update of the Google Pixel Buds app brings a hidden menu called “Spatial Audio”.

The menu, discovered by 9to5Google contains toggles to enable Spatial Audio and Head Tracking features. There’s also a demo built right into the app’s settings to preview what enabling the feature sounds like. A disclaimer at the bottom of the menu reminds you the feature only works with supported content.

The Google Pixel Buds should receive a firmware update that enables head tracking soon enough. It will likely be part of the next Pixel Buds Pro Feature Drop update, which should be arriving sometime in March.

Neutral sound pretty good for most user if don’t care

For most people even basic earbuds are enough. Just need long battery life and good sound. Even if they have no app it isn't a big deal. You can use the equalizer of your phone. I have 4 pair. The cheapest one which is the Edifier X5 sounds real...
