Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 run Geekbench with SD 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset

The US models of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 appeared in a pair of Geekbench listings and we finally have confirmation that both will utilize the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset. This is the very same SoC found in the Galaxy S23 series and it offers slightly overclocked CPU and GPU cores compared to the regular SD 8 Gen 2 chipset.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 (SM-F946U) managed 2,030 points on the single-core test and 5,213 points in the multi-core department. These scores are slightly higher than the Galaxy S23 series phones which hoover around the 1,500 and 4,900-point marks respectively. The Z Flip5 from the test is equipped with 12GB RAM and boots Android 13.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 (SM-F731U) shares the same chipset as its larger folding sibling and managed 2,030 single-core points and a 5,213 multi-core score. The clamshell foldable is equipped with 8GB RAM and also boots Android 13 according to the listing. The next crop of Samsung foldables is expected to debut in August.

The 1500 pts benchmark of the s23 series are from Geekbench 5.1, this benchmark is from Geekbench 6, on this benchmark, the S23 series does the same value.
