Huawei updates the MateBook X Pro 2023 and MateBook 16S with Intel's 13th Gen chips

Huawei added 13th Gen Intel processors to the MateBook X Pro and MateBook 16S lineup and attached 2023 to their names. Otherwise, there are very few hardware differences between the two and their 2022 counterparts.

In fact, in the case of the Huawei MateBook X Pro 2023, there are no other differences outside of the new processor. The laptop goes from Intel's 12th Gen P-series chips to the 13th Gen Raptor Lake with a choice of the Core i5-1340P and the more popular i7-1360P. The processor comes with the same 28W thermal envelope and the same 12-core, 16-thread configuration.

Those are divided between 4 performance cores and 8 efficient cores. RAM is either 16GB or 32GB, while graphics are taken care of by the Intel Iris Xe GPU.

The display is still the same, lovely, 3:2 aspect 14.2-inch LTPS 90Hz touchscreen with a 3120x2080px resolution and a 500-nit peak brightness.

There's a 60Wh battery inside the MateBook X Pro 2023 and four 4 USB-C ports on its sides - two Thunderbolt 4s on the left, and two USB-Cs on the right.

The MateBook X Pro 2023 weighs just 1.26kg and is clad in a 'skin-soothing' metallic body. You'll be able to grab it in three colors - Space Gray, and Ink Blue and White, which have a fine-grained coating. The MateBook X Pro 2023 is on sale on June 1 from €2,199/£1,799.

Moving on to the MateBook 16S 2023. It's a 1.99kg 16-incher with a 3:2 aspect 2520x1680 touchscreen display. Huawei says the display reaches 400 nits, which is 100 more than the previous generation and would be a big improvement (300 nits is so 2017).

The processor choice is all 13th Gen and all H-series (45W) - i9-13900H, i7-13700H, and i5-13500H.

No one's saying not to release intel options. Only to make amd options available as well. I don't think having an option is such a concept to comprehend.
