The first One UI 5 Watch beta starts rolling out to Galaxy Watch4 and Watch5 owners

Peter, 07 June 2023

Samsung announced One UI 5 Watch a month ago and the first beta is now out. It is available for the Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic as well as the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro.

If you want to try it out, you need to sign up through the Samsung Members app. There should be a banner inside the app like the one below. Note that the beta is currently available only to users in the US and South Korea.

Once you sign up, you should see an update for your Galaxy Watch (though it might not appear immediately). It’s a 1.5GB firmware, so make sure that the watch has at least 30% battery since copying it over and installing it will take awhile.

Tizen at least had a little optimization.... Even with the quite a bit larger battery and a more efficient SoC WearOS manages less battery life.

I really hope this update can gives a better battery life to user. Since they're moving to WearOS, their battery life is just bad, worse compared to the one that uses Tizen.

Can anyone tell me if the Samsung updates have improved the battery life on the 40mn and 44mm GW5? I wish Samsung state by how much better the sleep tracking is instead of just saying it's a update.
