Redmi 12 launches in India on August 1 with "crystal glass design"

The Redmi 12 that initially launched in some markets last month (and which we've reviewed last week) is finally making its way to India as well. The wait is not over, however.

The brand has revealed that the phone is launching in India on August 1, so there are still a few more weeks to go.

Redmi promises that this phone is a "style icon" that represents "the perfect blend of beauty & innovation". It comes with a "crystal glass design" and the brand signed up Indian actress Disha Patani to promote it.

The Redmi 12's back is glass (though the frame is plastic), and that is indeed a pretty rare occurrence at this price point. But it's interesting to see the entire campaign focusing around this one aspect, isn't it? That might be because the Redmi 12 is incredibly similar in its specs to the Redmi 10 from 2021. Not identical, but very close.
