Redmi K70E will be rebranded internationally as Poco X6 Pro

Vlad, 29 November 2023

As you may already know, Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi is getting ready to unveil a trio of new high-end devices for the Chinese market on November 29 - the K70, K70 Pro, and K70E. The brand has been teasing them in various ways on Weibo over the past few days, and maybe that's whet your appetite for one? Say, the K70E?

Well, we have some good news in that case. It turns out that this device will, at some point in the future, be sold internationally as the Poco X6 Pro. This has been revealed through an NBTC certification in Thailand, which connects the model number 2311DRK48G with the name Poco X6 Pro.

The Indian version, 2311DRK48I, has also been certified for sale in the country by BIS, so that confirms a future launch in the subcontinent. Now, the final piece of the puzzle is this: the model number for the Redmi K70E is 2311DRK48C. Xiaomi and its various sub-brands have always used the "G" suffix in model numbers to depict globally released devices, while "I" is for India and "C" for China.

So that settles it. In the future, the Poco X6 Pro will arrive on the global stage, and it should sport a 6.67-inch OLED display with "1.5K" resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, the Dimensity 8300-Ultra SoC at the helm, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage, and a 5,500 mAh battery with support for 90W charging. The X series has never seen such a beast before, and it will be interesting to see how it's going to be priced.

What's the problem here? This rebrand lets people outside of china access the device, and it's a pretty good one so I'd hope they wouldn't hog it.
