Upcoming Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) earbuds leak ahead of April 18 announcement

Vlad, 09 April 2024

Last week Nothing revealed that the earbuds it's going to be making official on April 18 are the Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a), as the company is intent on 'resetting' its naming scheme and thus letting go of the numbers that used to inform us about which generation a product is.

Today both earbuds models have been leaked, complete with images and specs, so let's start with the high-end product, the Nothing Ear. These are allegedly going to be priced at €150, and they will unsurprisingly be the successors to the Nothing Ear (2).

The new Nothing Ear will have an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, while the case will be IPX2 rated. The buds will get 7.5 hours of battery life with ANC turned off, and the case will give you a total of 33 hours. The Nothing Ear will be offered in black and white, with a transparent theme going on as you'd expect from Nothing.

The Nothing Ear (a) will be the cheaper option - €100, according to this leak. For that amount of cash, you'll still get active noise cancelation, dual connection support, and quick charging just like with the Ear.

The Ear (a) buds will last 8 hours with ANC off, and their case will give you 38 hours in total. They will also be IP54 rated, while the case will, for some reason, get an even better IP55 rating.

These will reportedly be available in black, white, and yellow, with the yellow hue somehow being more eco-friendly (this isn't detailed any further, so we have no idea how or why).

All in all, these look like very solid audio offerings from Nothing. We're looking forward to their official launch next week.
