Motorola X50 Ultra photos and specs shared by TENAA

Last we heard of it, the Motorola X50 Ultra was “coming soon” with a promise to launch this month. It’s not quite ready, but the checklist is nearly complete – one of the last items was an approval by TENAA and the agency just listed the phone complete with live photos and some specs.

The X50 Ultra is the Chinese version of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, which is also expected later this month. The local model will have some additional features, with AI being a key part of the advertising so far.

The photos from TENAA show the black model and though you can’t see it clearly, this is a vegan leather (the color is dubbed Forest Gray, at least in the West). The device measures 161.0 x 72.4 x 8.5mm and weighs 197g, which are roughly the Edge 50 Ultra dimensions with some rounding.

Both models are powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and a 4,500mAh battery (4,365mAh rated) with 125W fast charging. There should be 50W wireless charging too, but that detail didn’t make the cut in this listing.

Defining features of the model are the curved 6.7” OLED display on the front and the 3x periscope lens on the back with a distinctive lens shape and a 64MP sensor.

The Motorola X50 Ultra should have extended memory options compared to its Edge twin. Based on TENAA’s listings, users will be able to pick between 8, 12, 16 and even 18GB of RAM and 128GB to 1TB storage. Motorola still hasn’t announced a launch date for the X50 series, but we’ll keep you posted.

At first glance, I had already thought that this design had been slightly inspired by the S21 Ultra. Specifically talking about the Camera bump being a different type of material and look then the back glass. Which was a noticeable feature of the S21...
