AnonD-735592, 21 Feb 2018Battery performance is not so good. I expected far better b... moreVery true, same range chinese phones even have memory card slot, 0.3 to 3.0 mp cameras, and browser (even though its just gprs) Eg tecno t349 and its even a little cheaper than this. Nokia is a disappointment.

A music player should have at least been created on this phone or atleast 2g internet services bcus with the current specifications its kindof very boring. Low end phones like tecno and itel umder this price range if not cheaper have basic features atleast like gprs/2g internet, memory card slot for music and videos, and 0.3-3.0 mega pixel cameras. Not impressed with nokia.

Having bought a Nokia 105 (2017) I find, that the claimed battery life ie one month on standby is way too optimistic. I would say that you get around two weeks and a day or two. Also notification that the battery is low is scant. It makes a few sounds which you may well miss and, anyway, by that time the battery is too low to work the phone. Other phones do better eg Blackberry Curve flashing light . . . etc. Otherwise, makes calls OK. But for a simple phone, would prefer (very) long battery life and efficient low charge notification.

Can you mess around inside this phone with computer (usb)? Might solve those lack of media issues (ringtones, wallpapers).

Recently purchased this because I was so keen on getting a Nokia model. Based on my own experience of 105 trilogy I thought it would be better if I post a review on this model as well.
First of all, this is used as my secondary mobile and I do lots of texting and calling from this handset.
                      * Design wise I may say it's a looker. The ergonomic design feels good in hand but there's a catch though. Even it feels rock solid it's bulkier than any 105 model!
If you are a serious texter, I would suggest to stay away from this one as the keys including the D pad is really hard to press and there's no fluid like sensation when you hit the buttons. It hurts! believe me.

                      * Calling: Excellent! Earpiece works as the loudspeaker as well and the voice clarity is superb (for the money you paid). No voice leakage. Mic is situated in the front.

                      * Sound: Again through the earpiece as the loudspeaker and it has a modest volume. Till this date I haven't missed a call. (But if you test the sound through the setting idk it's kinda gives a low volume but when it's an incoming call, it rings pretty loudly.) Vibration is OK. Only 6 ringtones. Yeah bit weird.

*Display: Good. Only one wallpaper though. Readable in sunlight. Text appears in huge letters in messages and there's no way you can make it small like in old Nokias!

*Battery: Gives me straight 5 days with heavy calling and texting. USB charging. Usual Nokia BL 5C battery is included.

*Extra: No stopwatch nor timer! 3 games are included with 5 trials. Radio works well with the handsfree attached. Reminders can be set through the calendar.

                      *SIM: Dual standby. Works neatly.

Conclusion: This is entirely up to my taste. Even though the handset is rocksolid I still like the Nokia 105 2015 model made by Microsoft.

Hope this helps. Have a good day.

Bought as a backup, what a shit phone. Only five or so ringtones and none of them is very loud. Vibration is low so it's hard to detect while in your pocket. There is only one wallpaper, there is no option to change the background or the text color or size for anyone who may have difficulty seeing the screen. Keypad sucks, it's difficult to press and the four way D-pad is also hard to press.

I did not have high expectations in getting this phone but Nokia have set the bar low once again.

                              I recently bought a Nokia 105 (2017). It came with a BL-5CB 800mAh battery and a mains charger.

An elderly relative of mine has an old Nokia 1200 which uses a BL-5CA 700mAh battery but that Nokia 1200 no longer charges its BL-5CA battery although the battery still works. I have tried the BL-5CA in my new Nokia 105 (2017) and it fits and the phone works. I tried plugging in the Nokia 105 charger for a few seconds and it seems to charge the BL-5CA.

I just want to know if the BL-5CA battery can be SAFELY charged in the Nokia 105 (2017). If it can, then I could buy another Nokia 105 for my elderly relative and that would enable him to continue using his old Nokia 1200 by charging its BL-5CA battery in the new Nokia 105 (2017), as well as being able to use the new phone too. However, I don't want to advise him to charge the BL-5CA battery in the Nokia 105 unless I have a bit more assurance that the difference in chargers would not cause the BL-5CA to explode or catch fire.

                              Your opinions welcome.

Bare essentials phone for working in tough environments when you can not continuously stress about your 'in the way' smartphone that might and probably will get damaged. Very few cost effective options remain for people who gets their hands dirty for work. Makes me sick to think what the world would be like if everything is focused on the fancy top elite folk who can nurse a smartphone 24/7 with little consideration for the bare essentials that keeps the actual wheels rolling. Clouds and virtual etc will blow over and crash but the rest of the 'lower level idiots' has to keep on serving the actual evil idiots about to ruin the planet. Have a nice life..

I expected from Nokia to make a Mobile phone, at least it should had , beside all these functions, Mp3, voice recorder, card slot , Bluetooth function without camera and antenna less FM radio.
Cause I am working in company that due to security issues they do not allowing.
