You can lock the keypad by going into phone settings and then Keyguard Settings ON.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2008Sorry.... how do you lock the keypad? Can't find it on t... moreMy wife called me and asked the same question and I could not answer her, neighter was this info to be found on Nokias support page nor in the user's manual, that b.t.w. seems to focus more on how to identify non-genuine batteries or what you should not do with your 1650, rather than help using your phone. At last I found out by trying with the Nokia standard procedure for the keylock. Switching the keylock on and off is made by pressing the upper left key (-) and the star key (*) in sequence. If you are too slow, it won't work. You can also set an automatic keylock and delay time in the "phone settings", that is mentioned at page 48, but nothing about the manual locking.
I hope this post doesn't count as an "Unlocking discussion" in the "Posting rules" :-)

When i'm typing textmessage, it doesn't put it on the screen immediately, but it has a delay of about a second. Second of all, I don't like the 'agenda' because you can't put in birhdays (like on my old secondhand phone, the 3510i) or repeat any of the 'memory-helpers'. (Sorry for my bad use of the English language here, don't know how to it's called). Third of all I really don't like that you can't let the phone automaticaly remove old agenda memory helpers, like on the 3510i. The games are great, especcially Beach Rally. And it's really really cheap.

Ringtones are not loud n clearer upto Nokia standards, centre torch button is hard to press simply to say keypad is not comfortableplus backside look is like Nokia 1100 means like some ordinary black n white phone. What I like is display, torch,fm in 2000Rs.Nokia should give 1.5 year warranty on phones purchased from it's counters.

A good basic phone, decent display excellent battery life. Keypad is not good, torch is there but it is not as bright as the one in 1200 or 1208 because it is set too far from the glass cover. I mean it is deep inside unlike 1200 or 1208 and it sort of blocks the light. I removed the cover and found it was equally bright to other fones but the moment I put on the cover it was reduced to half. Faulty design, it cud have been better. Key pad is not precise U need to press exactly in the centre and thus typing is not as fast as one wud want. Ringtone quality is not satisfactory. It is niether clear nor loud enough. U have to keep the vibration on while carrying it outdoors in yor pocket otherwise U can miss a call. Battery is excellent lasts for more than three days after playing games a lot and even using the torch and making calls. This is the biggest plus point of this phone. Radio on the Loudspeaker plays quite well indoors.

peerhapz, 27 Jun 2008how could i lower the volume wen i am using the FM radio?pressing the centre button towards the left decreases the volume and towards right will increase the volume while listening to Radio thru earphones or inbuilt loudspeaker. Same applies for the in call volume both for the earpiece as well as the loudspeaker.

Put yor thumb in the curve on upper edge of the cover and flick it gently. It is very easy and can b done with one hand. Anonymous, 02 Jul 2008Is the screen bright and good readible in daylight/sunlight... moreLCD is fairly legible and there is not much difficulty at all reading the screen outdoors. Though I suggest U take a look at the phone personally before buying it. It is definitely better that 1208.

Yes it has different sound profiles and there are different ringtones and msg tones for every profile. The profiles have a timed option as well.

Smileys are there but not like the Sony Ericsson Phones they are like :) and ;(

Yes it has a number screening option U can add number to this option and your phone will not ring when U recieve a call or even a msg from that number. later U can see the list to view in detail the calls and msgs.
