Nokia 2 gets much-awaited Android Oreo update
The Nokia 2 that was launched way back in October 2017 with Android 7.1.1 Nougat is finally getting the Android 8.1 Oreo update.
This entry-level Nokia smartphone was initially supposed to get Android 8.0 Oreo update, but the company later decided to skip that and go straight to 8.1 Oreo. HMD also promised to include Android Go memory management improvements with the update because the phone only has 1 GB RAM. The Nokia 2, however, couldn't be moved to the Android Go program because it wasn't launched on it.
Nokia 2 got Android 8.1 Oreo through the beta program last June, and those who are still enrolled in the beta program will receive a notification from Nokia for the stable update. Those who aren't will have to register here to get the update.
Do note that there will be a slight drop in performance once you update your Nokia 2 with Oreo.
Furthermore, Android Oreo on Nokia 2 will only work on mobile networks that have already approved this version of Android. Besides, Nokia has said that Oreo won't be available for new users in 34 countries and on 7 mobile networks. You can head over to the source link below to check out the entire list.

Other companies stop updating their phones even though they are still capable enough. Nokia gives users the option to update even though the device is normally not capable enough. Props to them
