yes a great phone indeed with so many features though will be experienced when software upgraded to the new version.
cant wait for the n70 which also is full packed of features

According to telco, firmware upgrade will be available in NZ in a month. My question: does the upgrade fix the problem of 'fat' photos on the 3230? If not, I may trade the phone in instead.

I have the 3230 since only two days yet, but i have already an opinion. This phone is amongs the slowest s60 phones that i know, YET it also is one of the best looking ones! The camera isreally good, it is a breeze to use the file transfer via cable (bluetooth on the PC sometimes refuses to detect the phone) and most of the 3rd party software is compatible (as opposed to the N70 which is a million percent faster, but runs almost none of the usual softwares).
After using GPRS, the phone slows down to a crawl but a reboot will "fix" this. I use a almost completely full 1 Gigabyte MMC so that might be the reason (i have 300 songs and several full-length movies on it).
Mine has the old firmware still (3.0505.2) so i too suffer from the rather bad and weak mp3 sound, but a firmware upgrade will most likely solve it - if Nokia ever gets this upgrade all the way to Thailand, which can take AGES.
I can recommend the 3230 for normal users who seek a phone with excellent reception, good voice quality (which it has! very loud and clear) and beautiful looks. I will NOT recommend it for power users or gamers - it really lacks performance.

I do not like this model at all. The signal strength is appalling. How can a phone supposed to be so sophisticated actually have no signal or lose the signal whilst in a city? Sending texts is labourous and too slow. I would not recommend this mobile to anyone.

Is this phone still with mono MP3 player even with latest firmware?
Secondly, I am also evaluating 6670, which has PDFViewer and Quick viewer for Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Can these applications be loaded in 3230 also?

Can anybody tell me a program wich can delete folders on my mmc?I can't delete some folders...this folders are not using by any program.why they can not be deleted?
I have a problem with viking mp3 player. it can't find my mp3 songs from my phone(memory phone & mmc).have anyone a solution?

I agree wz u jaypee. This phone really gave me so much problem...ever since i bought, NITEMARE begun.....till now....still resolve....I used it within 2 weeks and sent in n out till today....PISS OFF !!

nokia 3230 is a really bad phone never used it....even if u get it for free ....the phone is like an hell on the earth it keeps hanging, the voice quality is bad .....go for o2 guys its a new brand

ok guys here it is.the comparison of the nokia 6630 and 3230. and believe it or not 3230 comes out on top thanks to the fact that its symbian. 3230 got push to talk,an infrared port,visual radio which im afraid the 6630 lacks.plus the 6630 can only take dual vlotage mmc whereas the 3230 can take both.3230 is smaller as well.so the only thing that lets it down is the mp3 player ryt? wel that all about to change
my mp3 player is brilliant!!!! its loud and crystal clear!! you have to do 2 things to achieve this::
1. get a firmware upgrade v.4....
2. get the latest mp3 player 3.50 which allows you to adjust the bass and stuff with an equaliser.its the loudest mp3 player yet!!!
and now that i have this mp3 player with such good quality, i can thankfully say the 3230 is better than the 6630

Don't worry you are not the only one who's dissapointed...I have it for a month and I can hardly wait for the next 3 weeks to pass, when I'll go to Italy and buy myself a N series.As somebody said "too bad it's in this body" It's like you see a beautiful girl and you like her but when she opens her mouth you run away ;)Nice body,low brain.The worst Nokia I have ever had my hands on!The restarting thing is killing me!

My cousin has 6260. The speaker or ringing volume is soft. I think you better get Nokia 6630, 6680, 6681 or the N series.

so basically this isn't what i should go in for.yes tht was the idea i always had in mind i guess the 6260 is definately better if u ignore the camera
