hi im about to purchase a bluetooth USB dongle for my pc but am not sure what bluetooth version is on the 3230. the dongle is compatable with bluetooth version 1.1. please help!! thnx

2) The very basic option of Birthday reminders is missing I cant believe this can happen is Nokia sleeping
you can use anniversary as birthday reminder.
speaking of disadvantages, do you know how to insert contact number in the body of sms? (not in the "to" field) all i can find are insert template & recipient.
it's a shame if 3230 doesn't have this feature.

I've complain about the beep to Nokia a few times asking them whether there's a way to enable/disable it. But they told me it's not a bug but a feature they put in because the ringtone can be of different sound level and the beep serves as a warning tone to us that there's a call or sms coming in. No way to disable it.
My feeling is that the sound quality of the phone too lousy and sound level too low that u can't put most midi or mp3 at full volume (or else u will be listening to very distorted music) hence they have to put something before the ringtone. Actually do u realize all the simple tone like the "drill" (nokia ringtone with .nrt file ext) are quite good and loud? What a pity.
Anyway I did read somewhere that a 3230 owner saying that Nokia at their region have issue new firmware removing the beep. Can't remember was it Hong Kong.
Anyhow, I would like to know if any of u out there actually like the beep sound b4 the ringtone? Let's give a vote and see if most ppl find the beep to be useful or annoying.

guys, im struggling to turn the warning alert off on the profiles, it makes a stupid "BEEP" before call calls and texts, ive turned it off on the profiles, but it still does it,
ANY IDEAS?

I brought this phone last month for 400$ installed 256 MB card for another 25$, here's what i genuinely feel about this phone
ADVANTAGES
1) The only reason why this phone earns 4 points is because of its photo quality, the photo quality is exceptionally good, one cannot ask for better but the same cannot be said for video quality its just ok.
2) Over all external features are good size, shape, colour display, battery life, screen is big.
3) Another blessing for purchasing Nokia is various software’s/games available, it just makes life so easy. Most of 60 series software work fine on 3230.
4) Pc sync is good, I am using data cable and believe me you have the flexibility of customization.
5) Blue tooth is really good.
6) Video playback is good.
DISADVANTAGES
1) Speaker Sound quality for music playback is not at all good, compared to P900 the sound is lousy
2) The very basic option of Birthday reminders is missing I cant believe this can happen is Nokia sleeping
3) Photo caller identification we only see a small pic rather than original big photo
4) Like all other 60 series phones this phone some times restarts/hangs when there is large processing.
5) We cannot open WORD EXCEL documents now this can be pain in neck P900 which was launched some 2.5 years back does have this function.
6) Comes with built in 32MB RAM you need to extend your RAM 32 MB is just not enough, believe me or not 3230 does not come with its own CD, I had to install the bundled software with my data cable.
Over all I like to say its good phone the best thing with NOKIA 3230 is its power of customization if you are computer savvy then you will love this phone you can customize the phone as per your wish.

hi everyone, just got my 3230 yesterday and i just got through my 1st bug *i've been hearing there's lot ^_^"*: the i-dont-wanna-vibrate when on silence mode. Thanks so much for the info!
anyways, this thread is getting bigger the minute and i would like to ask you guys for the things that i should look out for, like for bugs and the solutions for them, if there is a fix out yet ^_^

p.s. what are some must-haves applications for the 3230? except from the preinstalled apps, all i got on my phone is fexplorer and appMan. tnx again!

I bought it for $368 after signing up a 2yrs plan. Btw how come it doesnt come with the Welcome Kit (USB port cable)

definitely ur wrong!
because nokia 3230 plays mp3/aac/all popular formats.. i have a playlist on my phone with over 60 songs...! heheh! i luv music!
7610 is a little faster than 3230, but 3230 and 6670 works the same...!
i really dont know why 7610 & 3230 has the same price right now at the market...!
3230, is the best phone compared to those phones...
6670,7610,6630 i guess they dont have any infrared port...
i'll try to research about their difference..
but among the latest phones 2day...6670,3230,7610, & 6630...

1. 7610 -> because it has been released long time ago...
2. 6630 -> same with 7610...
3. 6670 -> the design is great!
4. 3230 -> i think lots of people dont lyk d design..but the features are complete except for the fact that it is MONO...

but i think, the MOST POPULAR nokia phone nowadays is 6600, but its slowly been outdated because of the new smartphones..

the answering machine is using properly on my phone and its great, if you're busy or sumthin' the answering machine can answer ur phone, and let the caller leave his/her msg... the credit will be deducted from the caller!
the video player exclusively for 6630 is working also in my phone, i think its a chinese one, but you can play videos, FULL SCREEN!
media safe is also compatible! you can put password on ur files for privacy!
